I had the pleasure of meeting Malcolm on many occasions, from visiting him in England when I was 6 years old, to when he came to visit my parents, Serban and Cristina, in Canada when I was a little older. I remember feeling drawn to his funny and affable personality, and I treasure the memory of going go-karting with him and my family. As I grew older, I began to understand exactly how his kindness shaped my family's story, and I am forever grateful to him for helping my father at such a tough crossroads. The world needs more of the open-hearted, grounded kindness that Malcolm embodied in his finest moments. I wish I could have shared a pint with him as an adult now; Malcolm, this next one's for you. Rest in Peace.

Rest in peace, Malcolm, dearest friend. You’ve led a long, fierce and courageous battle with your disease! We’ll never forget your thirst for life, your sense of humour, your generous spirit and your charm! May the divine light shine perpetually on your kind soul.
